Be the person you needed at their age
You already have the one qualification that matters most: you know what it’s like to grow up with Type 1 Diabetes. We’ll handle the training, the matching and the support.
What we ask of you
Mentoring with braveONE is a real commitment, but it’s a simple one. No lesson plans, no medical role. Just showing up.
-
You live with T1D
You’re 18 or older and know the daily reality of Type 1 Diabetes firsthand.
-
Six months, minimum
We ask for at least six months, and hope the friendship lasts far longer.
-
Regular, real outings
A bowling night, an ice cream run, a school visit. Ordinary time together is the whole point.
-
Screening and training
braveONE training and onboarding, including a background check and reference check. We provide all of it.
More than 150 families are waiting
Every new mentor is one more child who stops waiting. Right now the number of families hoping for a match is growing faster than the number of trained mentors near them.
